Day 1Fes to Merzouga via Middle Atlas & Ziz Valley

Depart Fes early morning, driving through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas near Ifrane and Azrou (look out for Barbary macaques). Continue through Midelt and the stunning Ziz Gorges and Valley, dotted with palm groves and traditional ksour (fortified villages). Arrive in Merzouga by late afternoon, transfer by camel to your desert camp in the Erg Chebbi dunes.

Enjoy a sunset camel trek, traditional Berber music around the campfire, and dinner under a sky full of stars. Overnight: Desert camp, Erg Chebbi

Day 2Sunrise in the Sahara to Dades Valley

Wake before dawn for a magical sunrise over the dunes, then ride back to Merzouga by 4×4 car . After breakfast and a (shower), drive to the Dades Valley, passing through Erfoud, Tinghir, and the spectacular Todra Gorge, where 300-meter rock walls tower above a narrow river canyon.
